Welcome to The Salt Flat Dance Collaborative! Located in Scarborough and proudly serving the greater Portland area, we are Maine's premier dance studio specializing in hip-hop and commercial dance. Our qualified instructors, including the talented Pine State Breakers—Maine's own B-boy crew—bring a unique focus on the true culture of hip-hop while fostering a vibrant and inclusive dance community. In addition to our hip-hop offerings, we provide exceptional resources for a variety of dance genres. Our knowledgeable staff is well-equipped to teach classes in tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, musical theater, acro, hip hop, and breaking, ensuring that dancers of all ages and levels find their perfect fit. we prioritize creating a family-friendly environment, using age-appropriate music and costumes, and ensuring the safety and health of our dancers above all else. Meet Brittany: A Visionary Dance Educator and Advocate for Balanced Growth
With over a decade of experience as a dance educator and judge, Brittany brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to The Salt Flat. As a mother to two young boys, she understands the importance of creating a nurturing environment that balances intensive dance training with the joys of childhood.
After witnessing the evolving landscape of the dance industry and experiencing the transformative power of motherhood, Brittany felt compelled to make a change. She envisioned a home for dancers that would provide unparalleled training in a positive and encouraging space, while also allowing them the time and freedom to explore other enriching experiences.
Driven by her commitment to fostering well-rounded growth, Brittany founded The Salt Flat. Here, dancers of all abilities find a sanctuary where they can immerse themselves in exceptional training from a diverse range of teachers.
